Dear Dr. Erika Beard-Irvine Pediatric Patients,
Dr. Erika is still in clinic working hard for your family. In light of Governor Brown’s “Stay Home, Save Lives” policy, we wanted to send an update about our available services.
Office Visits
Dr. Erika is seeing newborns and well child visits in the morning and sick visits in the afternoon. If you have an afternoon well child appointment scheduled, we will be contacting you to reschedule. It is important to maintain well child care, especially immunizations, during the current pandemic, so we don’t have a new infectious disease outbreak when the current social distancing is over. We request that only the patient and parent(s) or guardian(s) come into the clinic for the appointment. We clean and sanitize after every visit and then thoroughly clean the entire clinic at the end of every day. Unfortunately, we have had to move the books and any toys that cannot be easily disinfected out of the waiting room. As always, we are happy to give you a book to take home from your well child visit. *If your child plays with any of the remaining toys, please give them to one of us for cleaning.*
Telehealth
If your child is sick, you may be offered a telehealth visit with Dr. Erika rather than an in-clinic appointment. Telehealth visits will be available for ADHD and mental health follow ups as well. These telehealth visits will be performed through the SpruceHealth smartphone app. You should have been sent a text invitation to the app at your child’s first visit in the clinic. If you don’t have the app and need a new invitation sent, please call or text the clinic during business hours. Your telehealth visit will be scheduled like an in-person visit, except you don’t have to leave your house (yay!). To make your telehealth visit go more efficiently, we request that you weigh your child (if you have a home scale), take their temperature, and count their pulse prior to the visit. We are required to collect your copay at the time of the appointment, which can be paid through the SpruceHealth app. If you would rather pay another way, please contact the clinic. Prior to your first telehealth visit, you will be sent a consent form. Please read through this before your visit. Please contact the clinic if you have any questions about telehealth services.
Telephone and Online
Dr. Erika is still available for advice via telephone, email, patient portal, and SpruceHealth message. She may suggest a telehealth visit, if that seems like a quicker or more thorough way to answer questions.
Nutrition Services
If you have ever considered talking to a pediatric dietitian about your child’s diet or eating habits, it’s easier than ever. Our in-house registered dietitian and diabetes educator Lori Brizee is offering telehealth nutrition visits. Call the office to schedule.
Thank you for your continued support and for trusting in us to care for your children.
